How to Feel Empowered - 3 Powerful Tips for Self-Empowerment

Powerful Tips for Self-Empowerment

Have you ever felt like the real you is buried beneath expectations, fears, and noise that isn’t even yours?

While living within a system that wants us to be unconscious and submissive, reclaiming our inner power can feel like a distant reality. However, becoming our true selves, the person we were always meant to be, is closer to us than we think.

In a constantly evolving world that is undergoing a process of awakening, the term “self-empowerment” or being “empowered” has become a buzzword, appearing in books, the news, and social media. We are becoming more sensitive and conscious about our traumas, subconscious beliefs, and emotional wounds.

Today, let’s dive within to start a journey toward self-empowerment, healing those negative beliefs, and activating our inner wisdom. Here, you will find that empowerment is not about changing who you are but about remembering what already lives within.

What is Self-Empowerment?

The term “empowerment” was coined in the 1920s, but it was not until the 1970s that it became widely accepted. According to Dr. Lisa Haddad and Tammy J. Toney-Butler, empowerment is “a process enabling individuals to understand the relationship between their actions and outcomes, allowing people the power to achieve the results they desire.”

When we think about empowerment, we think about helping individuals understand their inner power, especially minorities or people who have undergone difficult situations. However, we rarely think about self-empowerment, the process of empowering ourselves and remembering our intrinsic value, abilities, and control over our lives.

Self-empowerment, at its core, is a process of remembering who you are, reclaiming your inner power and divine wisdom, and channeling that power into creating a better world for yourself and others.

3 Powerful Tips to Feel Empowered

Reconnect with Your Inner Authority (Instead of Seeking External Validation)

Self-empowerment begins when you stop outsourcing your truth.

There is a story that we constantly tell ourselves, and it's on repeat in our heads. This inner chatter is a sum of all the voices of everyone we know, a combination of their views about the world: what success looks like, who you should love, what your life should be, how you should behave.

This story was formed when we were children, listening to what our family had to say about us and the world. It became stronger as we grew older and tried to please everyone around us.

The problem is that we rarely stop to reflect and ask ourselves whether those ideas are true. We took them for granted, and now we carry that heavy bag everywhere, consciously or not, and it has become our truth.

Whenever we experience any challenging situation, we listen to this infinite recording in our heads, trying to do what people expect from us.

But now, it’s time to let go of those voices and be finally free.

It may be difficult because if we let go, life as we know it will disappear, and nothing will have any meaning. This may sound scary, but it is also liberating. Once we release what we thought we knew, we are free to write our own stories, find our own meaning, and create the life we want for ourselves, without caring about anyone’s expectations.

When we connect with our inner wisdom and authority, we release our dormant power and start to empower ourselves. Think about the times when you trusted your intuition instead of listening to others, and it led to success—that’s your inner wisdom!

But how do we connect with our inner wisdom?

Our inner wisdom is part of our Higher Selves. It lives within, ingrained in our souls. We can all have access to it. Our inner wisdom comes to the surface naturally when we silence our inner chatter and listen to our hearts, our intuitions.

We can activate our inner wisdom with practices like grounding, intuitive journaling, or sitting in silence. These practices have the purpose of calming the mind and letting intuition emerge.

What if the version of you that’s deeply empowered already exists, and you just have to get quiet enough to hear her? Empowerment isn’t something you achieve, it’s something you remember.

Clear Energetic Imprints That Diminish Power

Self-empowerment begins when you become your true self, the person you were always meant to be. But a major part of personal empowerment is recognizing that what disempowers us is not outside, it lives within.

It is difficult to be our true selves when we are entangled in a mess made of our subconscious beliefs and emotional wounds (including heart wounds, people-pleasing, or power wounds). Our negative self-talk, fears, trauma, and the harmful beliefs we have about ourselves are what disempower us.

Imagine if these subconscious patterns were tangible. If this were the case, we would see our reflection obscured by a dense, energetic fog, barely able to see ourselves beneath it. You may not be able to see this mess physically, but it is there, and much like in the previous scenario, it hides who you truly are.

Maybe your previous relationships did not end well, and now you don’t believe in love and have built walls out of protection to avoid heartbreak again. Or you experienced economic hardship while growing up, and now you think that money is hard to come by, and thus, you struggle financially. Or maybe your family was too hard on you, and now you struggle with self-love and want to meet everyone’s expectations.

But your traumas do not define you if you let them go. Start this journey by acknowledging your negative subconscious patterns and doing the inner work to let them go. Ask yourself: What beliefs or patterns are no longer serving me?

You are not weak—you’re just still entangled in an old energetic pattern. Power returns when you clear the noise of conditioning and reclaim your original vibration.

Align with a Higher Power or Soul-Level Vision

Self-empowerment begins when we recognize our place in the universe. We are not alone, nor are we separated from everything. We are all part of an interconnected whole: the universal consciousness.

Our negative beliefs about ourselves, emotional wounds, limits, fears, and search for external validation come from the ego. The most sustainable empowerment doesn’t come from ego—it comes from surrendering to a higher will and knowing you are guided.

When we align with divine intelligence, we stop trying to force our way into confidence and instead embody it. True power isn’t loud—it’s clear. When you align with something greater than yourself, you no longer hustle for worthiness. You simply are.

Surrender to the Universe, and know that you are always being guided. When you let go of the need for control and meeting everyone’s expectations, and recognize that you are as divine as the Universe itself, things will naturally fall into place.

Final Thoughts on Self-Empowerment

Self-Empowerment Tips: How to Feel Empowered

Self-empowerment is a journey, not about forcing confidence or changing who you are, but about reclaiming your inner power. This power has always been there, hidden beneath the tangle of your negative self-talk and other people’s expectations of who you should be.

This process is simpler than you think: it is about remembering who you are and letting go of what you are not. Your true self already has the power, wisdom, and courage. By embodying your true nature, you will also regain that power.

You were sent to this world to be the person you are—this was your unique and important mission. In the process, you may have acquired other people’s ideas and expectations, hindering your growth. But now, you can reclaim that inner wisdom and self-empowerment. It takes courage to be oneself, but you have all the tools to achieve it.
